Commentary

Peregian Beach is a small seaside town at the southernmost point of the Noosa region. "Peregian" is an Aboriginal word for emu.    With a yesteryear-holiday-town charm, Peregian Beach is a little further south of Castaways and Marcus beaches.  The predominant housing type in the area is single-detached dwellings. There is also a mix of units, townhouses and vacant land. About 5 per cent of properties are small acreages.

Architectural styles in Peregian Beach include brick and tile, contemporary beach homes, as well as rendered brick, and timber. The area is popular with families. Residents have access to all modern amenities, including a local shopping centre and weekend markets that attract visitors from throughout the Noosa region. The famous Hastings Street is only a 10 to 20 minute drive away.

The Wahoo Seafood Cafe in Peregian Beach is locally famous for its deep-fried Mars Bar. There is a village style shopping precinct and a Surf Club, Bowls Club, and recently built Hotel. The local skate park is popular amongst skaters in the region. The town of Peregian has recently been given an upgrade, with a new shopping precinct including several new restaurants, a medical centre, and assorted shops. Several other shops, including the Peregian Beach Bakery, have recently been renovated.

This beautiful golden coastal stretch of sand and surf and its beach-house style accommodation appeals to visitors who are looking for something a little different, as well as some solitude on their holidays. Given its location close to the beach, there area a number of prestige properties in the area. Some new low to medium residential developments, totally some 4,000 new dwellings, have taken place in the area.

The majority of Peregian Beach's coastal strip has been developed with older homes also being redeveloped due to the strong prices being achieved in the area.
